 Dear Parents, Students, and Visitors,

Welcome to Anthony Burns Elementary. I feel very honored and privileged to be the first principal of Anthony Burns Elementary. We are Stafford County's newest elementary school. We opened our doors to students on September 11, 2006. Today we have approximately 750 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We are located in the Austin Ridge subdivision and embrace a culturally diverse population. The school is very proud of the energy and involvement of the community.

I have been an administrator for 16 years. I have also taught grades 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8. I have 4 children of my own. I have a 25 year old daughter, a 23 year old daughter, and twin 12 year old boys. I am aware that being a parent is a hard job. I also know that each parent sends their most prized possession to school each day and I thank you for that.

The outstanding Anthony Burns staff is energetic, works in collaborative teams, and has high expectations for all students. Our school community is one of positive, respectful, cooperative individuals working together to develop lifelong learners that reach their highest potential and have opportunities for success.

If you ever have questions or concerns, please feel free to call me or stop by as I try to maintain an open door policy. I want to invite all families to become involved in their child’s education and to become a part of the Anthony Burns family. The children walking through these halls today are our leaders of tomorrow.

Principal, Nancy Coll
