About the TRT position
A Technology Resource Teacher is here to help you, the teacher, find ways to integrate and infuse technology into your classroom instruction. A TRT is in a school to spend a majority of his/her time (70% or 28 hours a week) assisting teachers with the integration of technology in the classroom, train teachers to use technology, assist with curriculum development, model instruction strategies, and offer direct assistance to teachers by way of classroom visitations. Some of the time (15% or 6 hours a week) of a TRT is spent meeting with administrators, serving on leadership committees, and attending professional in-services. The TRT will also spend some time (10% or 4 hours a week) creating and implementing a plan to communicate progress and activities (ex: newsletter, technology webpage, emails). Only a little bit of time (4% or 2 hours a week) will be spent on minor troubleshooting of computer lab equipment, hardware or software problems. Even less time (1% or 1 hour a week) is spent maintaining records to document progress and activities.
